Mich Gerber is a versatile and innovative exceptional bassist who has developed a style that can be located somewhere between classical, electronica, old music and folk songs, between the Orient and the Occident. Influenced by collaboration and joint performances with musicians from other cultures, Mich Gerber plays his own world music by giving the double bass the solo voice and thus making it sing. With the double bass and his live sampling system, he lays pitches upon pitches and weaves the whole thing into a dense, rhythmically and melodically rich soundscape. He uses the entire sound body of his instrument. The pitches are created with plucked bass riffs and bowed harmonies that lead through a world of overtones, with percussive and noisy elements. In short: the expanded sound world of modern double bass playing. Mich Gerber is able to form a solo acoustic bass orchestra together with his bass violin and the live sampling system. She is mixing her congolese roots with influences from all over the world. A Woman with a great stage presence, a lot of heart and emotion to seduce her audiences. She has seen many stages of big Swiss openairs as well as clubs in Jamaica, Spain and Germany. Her music unfolds its magic directly and intense. There is no holding back once she's in the groove. From heartbreaking mexican songs, to groovy cumbia tunes, they perform and share with you compositions that touch them deeply. Their focus is on jazz latin music, though they like to explore new musical traditions and surprise their audience with unexpected interpretations from elsewhere. The breathtaking voice of singer and trumpetist Bara combined with staggering guitar solos and enchanting bass grooves will bring a spectacular though soothing atmosphere to our last evening of Fusionizers 25.
